There are many species of lavender with similar benefits, but none compare in quality to English Lavender, Lavandula angustifolia vera syn. L. officinalis, L. vera, when it comes to pure essential oil. This is the original plant (vera means true) from which many hybrid lavenders were produced.
Considering all its benefits, it's no wonder Lavender has been highly favored over many centuries. It is not a "cure-all" but let's put it to use and see what happens.

Lavender Flower Water (Hydrosol) is very easy to use. A hydrosol is simply one of the results of distilation. It is the water by-product.
Lavender Essential Oil is also easy to use. Distilling an herb produces hydrosol and essential oil. There is no other way to get these "pure" products so do not be fooled by anything using the word fragrance (a synthetic substance that has no medicinal value).
